I know about obtaining a PAC code that would allow me to port my number from one provider to another but is it possible to take my existing number (on 3) and move it to my Virgin Ooomph SIM.

If I obtained a PAC code from 3 I assume that would set the ball rolling regarding cancelling the contract but I dont want to do that. I am happy to be provided with the old number for the 3 SIM (or even a new one)

Welcome back to the forums & thank you for taking the time to post. 

If 3 provide you with a PAC code then your service with them would cancel, you would be best asking 3 about keeping your account with them open.
