Hi.
Got a new VM sim for my daughter at the start of the month, transferred her old number over. Working fine
Today she texts me and its come through on a different number.
Without checking to be sure, it looks like the Simcard number from the new sim,
I can't call it as its saying the number isn't available, I can call her usual number fine.
If I reply to a text chain from her usual number she gets it, and the same from this other number.
Any ideas why?

Hi there @Matthague, welcome back to our forum and thanks for your post.
I'm sorry to see that your daughters sim is not working as expected. It certainly is odd how it has suddenly reverted back to this number.
What handset is your daughter using?
Let us know, we will be happy to assist further.

Hi,
It's an alcatel 4L
I've just checked the bill and it's the same number that's appeared today that's on the first bill.
Just a bit random that's all

this has happened to me too. The number I was given with new Virgin sim still shows when I text but the number I've posted works for calls...

Hi Matthague,
Thanks for coming back to us about this peculiar issue with your daughter's mobile number, I am sorry that it's causing some confusion.
I just want to make sure my understanding is correct -
When you try to call your daughter it allows you to do so via the ported number. However, when texts are used the temporary number we gave you at the start shows.
Is this correct?
If so, could you please turn your daughter's phone off for 10 minutes, then turn it back on to allow the SIM to reset.
Then you're going to want to check what number is showing in the phone's settings by following the below -
If it's still not the correct number, then a factory reset would need to happen (Warning: this action will erase all your personal information and downloaded apps.)
Follow the below steps -
Please let us know how you get on 🙂
Thanks,
