Terrible virgin mobile internet

Please help. My virgin mobile internet speed has been rubbish for weeks. When I use it at home (I haven't got broadband so it's very important) I get speeds under 1mbps. I've been on virgin at this location for years and it's been good until recently.

Hi @TomLee4 thanks for your post although I'm sorry to hear of your concerns raised, regarding the mobile internet speeds.

Can you please confirm if this is the case for you, when you try the SIM in a different handset?

Can you also check here to see if there are any issues in your area?

Hi, thanks. The O2 coverage checker says it's good service in my area. It's not my phone, it works much better in other areas, and on WiFi.

I thought I was getting virgin through vodaphone, not O2?

I understand, WiFi is something completely different in relation to your issue though but we do have to rule out a handset issue so this is always our first port of call.

In terms of your mobile signal/performance, we aren ow completely on the O2 network so this could be a reason for this.

Please don't provide an address over here, but do you live in a busy city or is it more of a rural area?

I'm in Greater London - Bromley. My signal issues are when I'm at home. I've never had problems here before. 1/2 a mile away is much better.

When did it change to O2?

I understand, it would appear that if you're not seeing any signal issues on the checker, it may be due to you living in a congested area which could be impacting the speeds you're receiving here and I do apologise for this.

The migration has been happening over the last few months, but on a phased approach, it's possible yours may have been later down the line and in the last few weeks which may match things up here.
