Switching providers but contract isn't finished yet

Hi there,

I'm thinking of switching providers but I still have 3 months left of my contract with Virgin (ends April 2022). I have a few questions which I have listed below:

1) If I switch, instead of paying a lump cancellation sum/fee, can I still pay monthly for my remaining contract until it finishes, and can my data contract be cancelled automatically once my final payment for the handset has been paid?

2) If I switch now, I want to move my existing number to the new provider using the PAC code service ASAP. Will Virgin let me even though I would still be paying the remaining money off for the handset?

I hope that makes sense! I just don't want to pay a lump sum basically and keep paying my monthly cost until it's finished, and then cancel afterwards, all while switching and keeping my number.

Hi anicholls13,

Thanks for posting and welcome to our community 🙂

You can take your number to a new provider and have an airtime package with them, and the loan on the handset will continue to be taken each month until it's cleared.
