Surprise Surprise - SIM Card Problems

Hi - Received new Samsung A21S phone as a gift.  Ordered new SIM with existing number via online chat (Absolutely First Class service from K.A. at Virgin).  New SIM arrived within 24 hours.  Followed instructions and....two weeks later STILL getting nowhere.  Searched these Community Forums umpteen times and tried various options and still have a new phone that isn't functioning.  Various attempts have resulted in the message, "SIM 1 not provisioned".  Feeling increasingly inclined to take ALL of my phone and Broadband/TV business elsewhere.
