Stopping SIM at Virgin requst

 I made a real hash of switching over as I did not advise receipt of new SIM simply installed it and disposed of old SIM. Am now without my lifeline phone, been unable to speak to anyone, shops are permanently closed, sent emails explaining and begging for new SIM to be activated to no avail.

Can anyone help?

Yes Ryan I still have no phone connectivity as my replacement SIM has not been activated.
