Still no 4G

Hi I've been a VM customer for several years now and after being told countless times 4G is coming soon its apparently been available to VM customers for some time now yet I still get no 4G. Isn't VM using the BT/EE network? They are supposedly the best for coverage yet I have friends on Vodafone, O2 and Sky who all get 4G when we are out or at my home whereas I'm stuck with 3G.

My phone is an iPhone X and the area is Manchester.

Have you a 4G plan or are you on one prior to its introduction?

When I go to the mobile app on my phone it says at the top below my phone number 4G 2500mins

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your signal. Do you already have the new Virgin sim with purple on the back? Have you tried rebooting your phone?

 

You might want to check how to Fix/Diagnose your mobile phone, to optimise your signal.

That might explain why I have no 4G - just took my sim out and saw it is all white no purple on it. How do I go about getting the new sim and keeping my phone number?

In that case I'm sill wondering is you are actually on a 4G Tariff. Did you take out the contract before Virgin had 4G?

Virgin should have sent you a new SIM ages ago as the old white ones will stop working sometime in the future.

You can request a new SIM over the phone and see what happens.

I've contacted Virgin Mobile today and they are sending me out a purple sim. Will see if that fixes my problem.
