Hi,
My data speeds have been awful recently. I am getting around 2mbps which is not really acceptable. This appears to have happened since the transfer across to O2.
I use my data a lot for both personal and business use, so slow speeds cannot continue. It is really frustrating when I am trying to use my phone as a hotspot and it takes ages to load some basic websites, never mind deal with video calls.
Is this expected to be an issue going forward or will data speeds be boosted at some point?
Thanks,
James

Jump ship now! 2Mb/s is considered fast on O2... Last time I was with them I was getting 0.01Mb. The network is heavily oversubscribed and O2 know it, but they don't care and instead insist that "Faster isn't always better." You can read more at the link below!

Hi Mrmodlee
Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.
Sorry to hear of the lower than expected speeds on the mobile. To confirm, is this is one location, or all? Have you also or are you able to try the SIM in another handset? Just to rule out the SIM/handset being the overall issue?

Hi,
Yes, I have tried the sun in different handsets. I have 4 handsets/sims with you and all are showing slow speeds.
Some locations get better speeds, maybe around 5mbps, but this is still not acceptable given it is on 4G/5G.
I had three bars of 4G yesterday and managed less than 1mbps before failing to connect on fast.com.
Thanks,
Lee

Many O2 4G sites have half the bandwidth of the likes of EE and Vodafone in the same area whilst entertaining twice the number of subscribers.
I run dual SIM with Vodafone and O2 and in many cases O2 is slow and in some almost unusable.
At a local supermarket 02 gives about 2MB compared to Vodafone's 100MB.
Telefonica have been trying to dump O2 for some time and I don't think they have put the investment in to keep up with the other networks
