Sim not valid - Nokia 100

Hi

I have a Nokia 100 phone (bought 2013) and am using the Sim card from my previous phone (Nokia 3310, bought 2003). I've been sent a new Sim card but get the "SIM not valid" message on inserting it.

I've tried the text service for help and was advised to phone.  On phoning I was advised that the new Sim would be activated by the person I spoke to but after 36 hours the same message continues to appear.

After checking similar messages on this forum, I've tried inputting the unlock code that appears on the card which held the new Sim but the final # doesn't appear onscreen and nothing happens.  

Another Nokia 100 user was assisted by Emma C but I was unsure exactly what the answer was, although there is reference to a new phone being issued.  I would be grateful for any advice.  Thank you.

Further to my question, it seems that the person I spoke to a few days ago must have deactivated my old sim as I can no longer make ior receive calls or send or receive texts.  So I have an old sim that doesn't work and a new sim that doesn't work.  I would be grateful if someone from Virgin could contact me about how to resolve this problem.

The number on the SIM card is for unlocking wrong PIN I think.

Your 2nd phone probably locked to EE, if you still have it, have you tried your old phone? I have a very old phone in which the new SIM worked.

Hi, could someone on Virgin's team please help with this query?  My phone has not been operating now since last Thursday.

Could someone from Virgin please respond to this message?  How can I use my phone now that my old sim's been deactivated and the new one is "not valid"?

Sorry to read the above 

We have a fix in place for instance like this 

Basically we will swap the handset for you free of charge to a new like for like Mobile phone

So I can get this organised 
I will need to send you a private message to pass security 
If you can check the purple envelope top right of your screen that would be great
