Sim not provisioned

Hi there, I recently switched my number from o2 to Virgin and I can see in my account page that the number has successfully transferred but my phone is telling me that the sim is not provisioned.

Can someone explain what that means and perhaps the steps I need to take to fix it?

Could I please get some help with this? I really need help as I currently don't have contact with the outside world and I have important calls I need to make.

I'm not sure what the issue was, but a quick phone call (using someone else's phone, which was a chore in the current covid situation) solved the issue.
