Sim card registration failed Nokia 100

I received a new sim card from Virgin as was told mine needed to be changed - I have a Nokia 100. I duly changed it and there was no response. I took it out, wiped it and tried again to no avail. When I turn the phone on, it states: sim card registration failed. I filled in an form online but haven't had a reply from Virgin. It's a pay as you go phone and I've put £10 on it thinking it had worked! Could someone help please?

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community. 

Very sorry that your SIM isn't working with your Nokia, I can appreciate the frustration caused. 

I'm afraid that the new SIM cards aren't compatible with some of the older handsets, this would include the Nokia 100. 

In these cases we do have other options to get you back up and running so I'll pop you a message now and we can discuss it further.
