Sim Activation

Hello,

Got a new SIM, popped it in phone. Didn't ask me for a pin and is showing that I have signal but is not allowing me to send any texts, code 28. Can I confirm that it is normal? I'm using a Google Pixel 5.

I am sorry to hear you're having this issue. Can I ask if you followed the self activation instructions that come with the sim?

We have some troubleshooting steps that you may find helpful under sim and activation here

I followed all the ones I could, but I didn't have an old SIM and it didn't give me a prompt to put the pin in. It's been less than 24 hours, I just want to check what's going on!

Can you confirm if you are able to use your data, receive texts and make/receive phone calls? 

Is it just when sending texts where you get this error 28?

No, nothing is working. Have just put the SIM in about 2 hours ago so it could just be not activated yet, but it's also showing me it has signal which I thought was strange.

Thanks for confirming your details via PM and clearing security @Jessicacharlton,

Looks like the number was barred which would explain why you're having these issues. 

It's been unbarred now so you should be able to use the sim now. 

Please can you check and let me know how you get on?
