Signal and SIM

Hi have purchased 2 Virgin contracts with iPhone for me and my wife.

whenever we text anyone it shows another number which is causing problems with work.

we took our numbers over with us but it only shows our new numbers some times and old number others.

we have assist dial that continually tries to dial foreign dialling codes and then doesn’t connect.

We now have had no signal on either of our phones.

Virgin have made no efforts to help. And now I can’t even phone them!

2 months into a 3 year contract what are my options!!!?!

Re: Signal and SIM

Hello

The way that iMessage works is that it doesn't automatically update the change of phone number dynamically, so to resolve this what you have to do is -
1) Logout of your Apple ID.
2) Turn off the phone and then back on.
3) Sign back into your Apple ID.
This will force the change of phone number with iMessage and will resolve your problem.

Re: Signal and SIM

Thank you for this it it’s not the imessenger that plays up. That works. It’s the actual text messages that come through as another number!

Thanks.

Re: Signal and SIM

Hi NP6882,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.

I'm very sorry to hear about the issue with your texts.

To amend this you need to do to Settings> Phone > My Number > Then amend the number to the one it should be.
