Just as a highlight to help protect other customers from losing any money, I have gotten two separate SMS messages this last week with the following:
"Your latest bill cannot be processed. Please review your billing information using the secure link provided to avoid any suspensions. mybilling-virgin.com"
Three things stood out to me immediately. Every time I get a genuine SMS from Virgin, they always link to virginmedia.com/mobileapp or provide their standard telephone number, 0345 454 1111, to call them. Second, the website address isn't one I'm familiar with so I checked the domain registry for the well known address, virginmedia.com and compared it with this one and it's clear the above address is a cheapo domain registered by an individual and not a major corporation. Third, my payment isn't yet due for a couple of weeks.
