SIM not valid on Nokia 1100.

I was sent a new Virgin Media SIM with a personal unblocking key, but when I put the new SIM in I receive "SIM not valid" message every time.  I have tried unblocking it using the suggested #pw+code+7#  method, but my Nokia 1100 does not permit the final #.  I have read lots of other posts from customers with a similar problem.  I think the best thing you can do, Virgin, is send me a new handset free of charge that will be compatible with your new SIM, as you have done for other customers with one of these older phones.
