Every time I open my phone which is a motorola G8 power I get the following message:
Update preferred SIM card? Virgin is the only SIM in your device. Do you want to use this SIM for mobile data, calls and SMS messages.
I answer YES and everything looks fine but the next time I open the phone I get the same message. Is this an issue with the phone or the service provider i.e. Virgin?
Is it dual SIM
Mines an S20+ but doing similar since the last update. I've seen similar reports

I have an Vodafone Esim, a 1p mobile in slot 1 and memory card in slot 2
The SIM manager screen appears about a minute after switch on and I have to cancel
