I have switched off parental control on my virgin mobile and have waited 24hrs but I still get the "content restricted" message, I have rebooted my phone several times but still no luck. Is there a work around?

In your post you advised you have 'switched off' parental control on your mobile, do you mean in the device settings or via your online account? This would need to be done at account level and changing the handset settings wouldn't effect this.
It can take up to 24 hours for these changes to take effect if it was via your online account, if this is something you need looking into let me know and I can investigate further.
