Replacement SIM sent when user out of country - unable to get hold of it - HELP

Tuning in

Hello Team!

My issue is quite complex and I am starting to think my only solution is to cancel my Virgin mobile.

As I have previously explained to Virgin via phone, I am still "stuck" in Finland due to family issues and have still not been able to get hold of my replacement SIM (Virgin network switch over) sent to my UK address since the spring. Currently that address has someone else (temporarily) living in it and the previous SIM was sent to my neighbour's address (in agreement with Virgin), with the idea that they would forward it to me here in Finland. Unfortunately my mother then had another stroke and due to Virgin cancelling my pre-swap SIM without warning (despite promising to delay the swap due to circumstances), I lost contact with the neighbour who is not online. This means I never obtained my SIM.

My intention is to visit UK in October and so the plan was to see my neighbour then and hopefully she will have kept my new SIM.. However, a few days ago I got an email from Virgin saying you've sent another SIM card to my UK address (which I previously already explained has someone else living there temporarily; this is someone I do no know).

So, to cut a long story short, what can I do? I feel like the only thing I can do is to ask you to close my number???

.. This pains me a great deal as I need my UK number, have had it for years and a lot of my two-step verification things still have that number listed and without the number I clearly can't change it, or get identified for things like HMRC. My plan is to return to the UK.

At this point I am worried about a new SIM having been sent out and not knowing where it's ended at.. and that the previous SIM sent to my neighbour has now been deactivated..(not sure if this is the case). If only you hadn't sent a second SIM without notice, then the issue wouldn't be so bad.

So, what can I do? Firstly, is it possible to post a new SIM directly to an address in Finland? (and cancel the others sent out and stop using my UK address until further notice)... I could then activate it when I am back in the UK in October. Or do we just have to cancel my number since there is no other option now? ..Then, if we do cancel my line, can I ask for a PAC code and perhaps then I can obtain a PAYG Sim from Amazon or somewhere so that I can still keep my number?

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jonna Shamwana

Hi doucejonna

Thanks for posting on our community forums. We do apologise for any confusion caused over the 2nd sim being sent out to you. This is due to us currently changing over to our O2 network.

We would post any sim card to the address registered on your account. We will unfortunately, be unable to post your new sim card directly to Finland as requested.

I will pop you over a private message to discuss this matter further with you. Please click on the purple envelope to accept the chat.

Kind regards Jodi.
