Really bad reception and no WiFi calling

wilo74
Tuning in

I’m having problems making any calls at home both indoors and outdoor s in the garden. The call when it does connect often drops so that I’m on a call the signal goes bad then disconnects around 4 times on a 5 min call!  I have WiFi calling enabled on my iPhone 11 and have downloaded and used the Virgin media profile so I have no idea why it’s not using my WiFi. Can anyone help?

Is WiFi Calling turned on in your account? It appears it is not on by default and needs Virgin to activate it.

May need Virgin to do that

Thanks for your time via PM @wilo74

I've activated WiFi calling for you. Please allow 24 hours for the update to take effect.

You will then need to also activate it via your handset's settings and once done will be able to use the Wi-Fi Calling service.

In terms of the poor signal you are experience on data, is this happening only whilst at home? How's the signal elsehwere?

It’s not great in my area on the whole which is really annoying

Appreciate that isn't ideal.

Have you checked the coverage checker here for any issues?

The service when i started with you was ok but not now. I’ve clicked the link there isn’t a coverage checker on it

Try these

https://www.o2.co.uk/coveragechecker

https://status.o2.co.uk/

Depending when you started your signal might of originally come from Vodafone

Virgin use O2 now as they are effectively the same group
