Premium rate texts charged but not received

I've just seen that I've supposedly received several Premium rate texts from (44) 700034001 charged at £1.50 each. Has anyone else been charged for texts from this number that they haven't received? How do you stop them?

Hi - I've just had my bill come in and the Premium Rate Texts that were going to be removed are still showing and my bill on the front page is £38.49 to be debited on 2 December? The £24.50 credit against these t Premium Rate Texts hasn't been applied?

Hi there LuckyCat,

Thanks for getting back to us, can I ask what date was this credit applied.

Also when was the bill produced?

Let us know,

Kain

Hi Kain

I had an exchange of message with John_GS on Sunday - you should be able to see this surely if you're both admin? If I can work out how to attach a photo I'll send you a copy of John's message. He said that £24 would be credited.  These were scam texts that were never received. The bill arrived by email this morning. Dated 18 November - 4 days ago. 4 days for email?

Hi @LuckyCat thanks a lot for your reply here.

I do apologise for this, we can see you're in contact with John via PM.

As you can continue the trail with them directly, it's best to do so, so they can look into what's happened here and get this sorted for you.

Please PM John and he'll look into this and get things sorted ASAP.

Many thanks

I have been inundated with charges from 44700034001 during November despite me blocking the number previously - also I received a Credit of £1.50 on the 17th November from the same number - last month I contacted Virgin mobile re similar charges and because my sim is for £10pm and I receive charges for £30pm my feeling was that my phone was still being charged for, this is not apparently the case and I was advised my contract expired 13/11/2022 - last night I contacted Virgin again re my latest bill and asked about my contract to be told it had expired March 2021, further conversation ensued re my mobile not having the numbers or showing any information logged that could help us - also in an effort to STOP this type of charges we had our SPENDING cap reduced to ZERO - BUT I am sure that I read in a post that even this step is not a guarantee they will stop - I need my ruffled feathers calming a little as someone is making a very healthy living off me and others - sorry for the long dissertation - kind Regard

Hi Nooks, thanks for posting and welcome to our community.

Sorry to hear you've been receiving unwanted premium rate text message charges.  I would like to take a closer look on your behalf.  I am going to send you a private message. Please look out for the purple envelope in the top right of your screen.

Hi - I have been struggling with this too from exactly the same number - 44700034001. I have been told by Virgin that basically it's my own fault as I "must have signed up for it". Though quite how or why you would sign up for something that you know nothing about and gain nothing from apart from anguish and loss of money, I really can't imagine. Virgin gave me a STOP short code and the email of the associated company that might be responsible - this company have replied say it is nothing to do with them and suggest pursuing Virgin as they are the ones making the money (£1.50 per almost daily unwanted text) so they, Virgin,  should be able to block it. I have tried blocking - nothing. I made a written customer complaint to Virgin on Saturday, which I was told would be responded to within 48 hours - however no response.
