I'm a new virgin customer and I've just received a text from +447399060362 saying
Virgin Mobile: Your monthly direct debit has been declined, Please update your details to avoid loss of service and a link to virgin-mobile-verify.com
I clicked on the link and it was asking for all my details including bank account. I didn't fill it in. Then I realised my Direct Debit isn't due until 1st September. Anyone know if this be a scam please?
You’re wise not to enter any details as it’s most likely a scam. I would log in to your Virginmedia account to ensure the DD is set up correctly & check whether a payment has been made. It will let you know if the payment has not gone through. You can also check with your bank to see if a direct debit has been set up.
If you hover over the link before clicking on it you will be able to identify if the sender is genuine or not, most of the time. There are a LOT of scams like this around these days and it is always best to check with the company mentioned separately before clicking on anything.
