Hi,
Is anyone experiencing the same?
I have always had reasonable mobile reception in my home but for about 5-6 months now it's been really poor.
There are constantly no bars lit up on my mobile data icon and my phone regularly informs me that virgin network is not detected. Additionally, when I do manage to make a call it drops out mid-call. Restarting my phone has no effect.
As I said this has been going on since early summer but has become impossible now. I have to go out into my garden to make a phone call without it cutting off.
I had my landline removed earlier this year because I never used it but the problems with virgin have left me unable to receive / make calls except by WhatsApp.
I have been ill recently and need to have contact with the hospital but this can't be guaranteed. Either I am cut off during any calls or they complain I'm 'breaking up' or I receive voicemails without the phone even ringing.
I changed my mobile in August as it was old and I thought it might have been the problem but things have steadily got worse not better.
Any friends / family on the virgin network experience the same problems in my house.
Am I only the one who feels they are not getting anything close to what they're paying for?

Many apologies for the issues faced Lawmbanks,
Welcome back to the community.
Can I ask during this time has anything been changed at all with the service?
Also have you migrated over to O2's network?

Just by means of some background which may help ID where the problem is - Virgin don't operate the actual mobile network themselves but were historically an MVNO - otherwise known as a piggyback provider. There are only 4 network operators in the UK - EE, Vodafone, O2 & 3.
In the past, Virgin used EE and started a move to VF about a year back - I can't recall the exact date but it's immaterial now. Virgin Media are now in a UK-joint-venture company with O2 so all mobile service is now via them.
With that in mind - do you know any friends or relatives who use O2 in your area, what is their service like?

If you don’t know any O2 people Giffgaff, Tesco Mobile and Sky Mobile piggyback off O2

Hi,
Nothing has changed with my service to cause the change in my mobile reception.
I have no idea if I've been transferred over to O2, sorry.
It's virtually impossible to make or receive phone calls on my mobile in my house now.
Thanks
Marie
