PAC code updated & SIM changed

We (daughter & I) transferred to Virgin mobile over a month ago.  We were provided a PAC code from old supplier, swapped the sim.  However, when we send txt/iMessage the new number comes up, some incoming txt are not coming through. Why is new number over riding our existing numbers?

Is it an iPhone?

If so, sign out of your Apple ID

Reboot the phone 

Sign back in to Apple
