Oomph bundle sim switch guidance

Hi I had opted for the oomph bundle and had entered the pac code from my existing service provider during checkout for the SIM card. Received the broadband kit and it’s working fine. Received my SIM card yesterday and I put it in the phone yesterday night. When I call my number it still goes to my old service provider’s voicemail. If my understanding is correct, the switching process will start once the new sim is inserted in the phone. Any ideas why it’s not happening in my case?
