I’ve completed the pac process for my new sim but my iPhone is still showing the original sim number

I have tried changing this in settings but it won’t let me change the number

i have also tried turning off iMessage and FaceTime and rebooting the phone, but no success

Any ideas?

Hi Drmc,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums. It's great having you on board with us in the Community.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the incorrect number showing on your iPhone.

Whilst the port is going through, it can take 24 hours for things to complete. If it's passed this time please reboot the device. If you're still having an issue then, pop back and let us know.

Thanks,

It’s been more than 24 hours.  I’ve now tried leaving the phone off for 20 mins having deactivated iMessage FaceTime and Wi-Fi calling but nothings changed

i still can’t update my number on my phone either

Hi Drmc,

Thanks for coming back and clarifying things for me.

Can you confirm if you have selected Settings / Phone / My Number? You would have to manually select 'My Number' and then type it in. You can also select Messages in Settings and check Send & Receive is showing as your newly ported in number.

When you say it is not letting you change it, can you confirm if you are changing it and its not staying changed or is the option not there?

Pop back and let us know.

Thanks,

Hi

i have selected Settings / Phone / My Number and manually changed the number but it does not save my number

On the iMessage settings, my ported number appears but cannot be selected and is therefore unusable

No change this morning, still have the same issue, help would be appreciated

Hi Drmc, thanks for getting back to us.

I am sorry your issue is ongoing.  When you say that your number is not saving, do you mean straight after you've tried changing your settings?

Regards

Lee

Hi

I now have the correct number showing under MyNumber as I removed the sim and also reset my network settings

iMessage still does not work with my mobile number showing but cannot be selected

Thanks for the update Drmc, can you try turning off iMessage (Settings > Messages), then restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button), tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct. If it is not correct, please enter the correct number), then turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages) and go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under “Start new conversations from?

Hi

I’ve done all you suggest

The correct number is displayed on the iMessage tab, it just can’t be selected and the text says “waiting for activation”
