No service during 'working hours' in postcode SO31

Hi, for the past couple of weeks or so, we have had no mobile service (calls or texts) from approximately 08:00 to 16:00 every day. I have subsequently discovered that EE are doing maintenance in my area on a daily basis, but with no sign of an end date. Surely, I should have been warned in advance of this and, I should receive a credit on my monthly bill for this continual lack of service? Hopefully, someone from Virgin Mobile will read and action this as it is impossible at the moment to report this...

EE often don't even inform their own customers, unless you sign up for update texts or emails on their site. So it is worth registering

Re: No service during 'working hours' in postcode SO31

Hi, I have done this. However, they say it will be fixed by 4pm, and then, lo and behold, there is no service the following day. So you register again and of course, it will be 'fixed' by 4pm and so on and so on.....

Re: No service during 'working hours' in postcode SO31

Hi BigAl53,

Thanks for using the forums to get this issue looked into, I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

As its been a few days can I ask if there has been any improvement on your signal since posting?

If no, then can I ask if you are now on our own Virgin Mobile network (Purple SIM) and not on the EE hosted red SIM?

We have no control over EE's network/upgrades.

Thanks,

Megan_L

Hi Megan,

Well it would seem that my signal is back to normal for the last 2 days. By the way, I have a red sim.

Re: No service during 'working hours' in postcode SO31

Red or Purple will actually make no difference, both use EE for signal except the new ones connect to Virgins own core network and that does not come into play in this scenario.

Surprised as the new ones have been issued since Dec 2017 and the majority of the old ones pulled.
