No Roaming Service in Saudi

JamesinSaudi
Tuning in

I have roaming turned on in my account. I am based in Saudi. I don't use my UK number often so the phone is turned off to save data. I turned my phone on yesterday and I am not able to call or text. It says on my iPhone 'NO SERVICE'. I have tried to reboot but no result. Anyone know how I can get service? BTW I used to get service - no problem.

Hi JamesinSaudi,

Thanks for coming back to us about this issue whilst you're away in Saudi, I am sorry if this has caused some disruption for you.

Thanks for explaining that you've already received your O2 SIM, the timing with what you described would be correct.

I would like to go through some questions with you if that's okay -

  • Lets check that your SIM serial number is correct, you'll need to take the SIM out of your phone and try to read the numbers on the SIM, they will be quite small. I will then check if our side matches.
  • Can I also ask what handset you have please?

Thanks,

Megan_L

Hello, JamesinSaudi, thank you for posting on our help forum.

We're sorry to hear your mobile has no service currently while you're abroad, please be advised we've recently switched to O2 network and sent new SIM cards to ou0r VM mobile customers to use, which would potentially be sent to your default account address, how long have you been away and is there anyone currenty in the UK to check if any new SIM has arrived?

Please, let us know and we're eager to help you out.

I got a new sim in August when I came back to London. I assume that’s the O2 sim? When were these issued?

Hi @JamesinSaudi,

Thank you for coming back to us about this ongoing issue. Is this the SIM number from the new SIM card you received in August when you came back to the UK?

Have you been in touch with anyone at your UK address to see if a new SIM card arrived at all since then?

Please let us know so we can help.

Thank you.

Yes that’s the SIM number from the card received when I returned in August. No new card has arrived since.

Hi @JamesinSaudi thanks for your reply.

I'm going to send you a PM to check things over and make sure no further new SIM has been sent since then too.

Please expect a PM from me to arrive shortly and respond directly when you can!
Many thanks
