No Internet while travelling abroad

Been abroad twice in the last 6 months and on both occasions I couldn't use my phone except on WiFi even though data roaming etc was setup ...

Sorry to hear of the issues with the services whilst roaming.

Can you please confirm in which countries you've been struggling to obtain a connection via your mobile data?

Does this affect all services, or just the data side of things?

River Cruise on the Danube so a number of different places .... Budapest, Vienna, Linz and Passau and basically nothing worked.  But in Malaga over the weekend I coukd text and call, just no data

Thanks @CurrEv, as you're using an Android phone, follow these steps: Select Apps from your home screen > Virgin SIM toolkit > Roaming > Mode > Manual > International. Once this has been done, you might need to reboot. Let us know if this works for you.

Sorry don't have Apps on Home Screen ... so accessed via Settings

But couldn't find Virgin Sim Toolkit ... found Sim Toolkit but there were none of the options you referenced.

Now have this which I downloaded via Access Points which I didn't have before ... Will that work?

New Virgin Mobile APN Settings

Internet APN
Name: WEB
APN: goto.virginmobile.uk
MCC: 234
MNC: 38
Authentication Type: CHAP
APN Protocol: IPv4
APN Roaming protocol: IPv4
Leave all other options blank/Not set

MMS APN.
Name: MMS
APN: goto.virginmobile.uk
MMSC: http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002
MMS Proxy: 193.30.166.2
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 234
MNC: 38
Authentication Type: CHAP
APN Type: mms
APN Protocol: IPv4
APN Roaming protocol: IPv4
Leave all other options blank/Not set

My settings are as described below ... but they didn't work again when I was in Dublin at the weekend.

In fact the only time I had any service was when I was connected to WiFi across calls/texts and data

Sorry to hear you were unable to use your mobile service whilst international roaming.  Did you attempt a manual network search?  Also, do you know if we've attempted to refresh your settings, before you've travelled?  Are you aware of the helpful tips and guidance here?  Before you next travel, I would recommend contacting us to refresh your settings. Also, do you know if the roaming works if the SIM is in a different handset?
