No Email Account images

Very recently the images which go alongside Virgin Media email accounts to help identify them have all disappeared, all except a Gmail account.

Removing all email accounts then reinstating made no difference.

Why would that be?

I thought I'd solved it... with a factory reset of the phone, BUT... No!

Initially after the reset & adding back the email accounts all, once again, showed a "profile image", specifically the initial letter of the account name.

Then after a little while the images disappeared, reverting to the blank circle shown previously.

Weird!

Strangely enough, incoming emails do show the, what I'm calling a, profile image.

I can't be the only person to have this issue!

Virgin Media pls respond.

Next step...

The exact same problem exists on a Nokia handset using Virgin Media email.

What's the common denominator?     VIRGIN MEDIA

As VM seem to provide no support other than this forum they should now respond!

Latest...

VM say to SPEAK to their technical department.

Would someone at Virgin Media tell me how that is possible, when phoning only connects to customer services, who have already proved useless?

I'm sorry this has happened and for the delay in response but I am going to be absolutely honest with you - we're limit as to what we could raise, it's on a 3rd party platform in which the problem is occurring. I understand that the issue is only with our emails on that platform. Have you tried speaking with Google support regarding this or looked on help pages relating to the platform? 

 

Just to confirm the issue is at the page where you select the email account - other than that the issue is not present? If you log in on a computer/laptop is the problem there?

 

I've looked through our own forums/community pages and can't see anyone else having this issue.

The latest update to the Gmail app seems to have resolved things.

What's been most infuriating is the total lack of help from Virgin Media, simply being passed from pillar to post while no-one actually providing any help. If an agent says "speak to technical" then that should be possible, without the rigmarole I endured!
It's common these days to just blame the "system", but computers don't make themselves, •people• make these systems, so people are to blame - and should own up to that!

I can also say the Gmail update today has put things right again 👍
