Hello. Ordered a new sim yesterday and it arrived today. It claims to be 5G ready but my iPhone doesn’t show that in settings at all. My last SIM card was a Vodafone one and when I went to mobile data options it would show 5G. This SIM card doesn't. It doesn't matter if I'm not in a coverage area it should still show as capable. So has it not been activated properly yet? Or do I have a dud sim? I’ve tried to call twice this morning and explain the situation but they don’t understand and when I explain further they just cut me off I assume because they don’t know what to say. Any help would be appreciated as I moved to this sim thinking I’d have the same as I had in Vodafone minus visual voicemail. thanks.
I have a brand new account. When I called the woman managed to say I had a 5G plan so I’m assuming so. I’ve sent a text to the help line number so hopefully I’ll get a response. If not I’ll try again tomorrow I guess. Unless someone can help on here by then.
Just a wild guess (with absolutely no evidence other than a gut feeling and maybe a touch of misguided hope), is that maybe iPhone 12 support will happen with a Carrier Settings Update bundled with iOS 14.4 when it's released later today 🤞
