New unsolicited Sim

I’ve received a letter today quoting an order number with a replacement SIM card. It also quotes a mobile phone number. However the only Virgin Media device I have with a SIM card is an IMO go and not a mobile phone as quoted in the letter. Anybody any ideas please?

Re: New unsolicited Sim

It will be connected to this activity. All older Virgin Media SIMs are being swapped

Even where you have mobile broadband, there is a number assigned to it.

Re: New unsolicited Sim

Thanks for that, do you know if there are any changes to costs at all as well as have received nothing in the post until this?

Re: New unsolicited Sim

Nope, there are no other changes.

A notification is sent via text message to the SIM before the letters are sent out - for the SIMs in the mobile hotspot devices they may not immediately be seen.

Re: New unsolicited Sim

I wouldn’t have received a text though as it is in an IMO go (hotspot device) and not a phone. Just paranoid about fraud lol

The IMO device still works with text messages - though with the data plan you have you won't have any inclusive texts for sending.

But you need to install any management app for the hotspot device or log into its admin webpage to read those that are sent to the SIM.
