New to Virgin, unable to recieve texts or calls

Ive just moved from EE to Virgin, bringing my phone number with me. Virgin say the transfer of my number has been completed, but for days I've not been able to receive calls or texts, anyone trying to call me gets sent to my old EE voicemail. Had a very unhelpful phone conversation with a member of the 'support' team who was outwardly rude saying that I was lying about the handset I was using (I'm currently using Alcatel one touch 1040 - it's not a smartphone, but according to her search it is) and that there was nothing she could do to rectify a problem that 'didnt exist'. Being pregnant and a keyworker it is vital that I have a working phone number but Virgin are being completely unhelpful- I fully regret my move across from EE!

Sorry to hear of the recent experience with the team, can we please confirm if you've already checked the coverage in the area here?

 

Have you also tried to go through the handset settings and manually select a network?
