New sim OK but displays T-Mobile

Hello. Like some others with old phones I got "Sim not valid" when I put the new sim in my old Nokia 1100. It could not be unlocked so I purchased another old Nokia 1100, which was unlocked. Success, back into my Virgin account. The only slightly annoying thing is this- it displays at the top of the screen T-Mobile UK. Anybody know how to change that?

Re: New sim OK but displays T-Mobile

You can't. T-Mobile was Virgin's original carrier when those phones were made. The new SIM will report a carrier number unknown to the phone, and so it defaults back.
