New mobile

My mobile is broken (not insured) so I'm getting a new one on contract tomorrow (already on Virgin mobile) but how do I keep my old mobile number? The order tells me to ring 789 but when I do I just get cut off after a couple of minutes and the guidance on the website is for new customers switching to Virgin only?

If you're upgrading your account then this would be done on the number you have currently so you wouldn't have to change it.
