Re: New Sim

I have received text messages from you asking for my address and post code

which I have replied to but you still keep texting me. Why do I need a new sim card as the one I

have does not expire until 06/23

Re: New Sim

Hi Marshall988,

Thanks for posting and sorry for the late reply.

Have you been able to arrange a new SIM since posting?

If not, let me know and I can arrange to send this.

Re: New Sim

I've been getting those texts too; I assumed it was some kind of scam.  Why would I need a new SIM?  I'm on pay-as-you-go and have been since 2003 or so.

Re: New Sim

But then the message changed and talked about "disruption to my service".  I can find nothing on the website about this.  Is it a scam?

Re: New Sim

Hello @HC1

It isn't a scam Virginmedia are changing all SIM to all them to do the managing of the network themselves, previous SIM were all dealt with by EE, Signal / Backend Systems and the SIM, the new SIM are VM own SIM which allow them to mange the backend themselves, as well as if and when VM decided to stop using EE for the signal will allow VM to do the transfer without any further SIM swaps.

The SIM swap page is https://www.virginmedia.com/shop/mobile/sim-help

Re: New Sim

Still no joy sorting this out, the weblink works but when you get to the section where it asks for the phone ime number and put the number in, it throws a wobbly and says it does not recognise the reference number and asks you to try later, for an IT company their systems suck !!, at this rate I will just but another phone from vodaphone.

Kind Regards

Terry

Re: New Sim

Does my tariff stay the same? Or is this all a sneaky way to stop pay-as-you-go? Why should I bother staying with Virgin if I have to go to all this bother? I might as well go with someone else.
