New Sim

I have received the new Sim card which my wife uses as a pay as you go.

I fitted the new sim but the photo will not see it and reports "insert Sim"  If I put the old Sim back in it works as it should.

I have tried rebooting the phone with the new Sim but nothing works.  This is driving me up the wall.  It could mean the the old sim is switched off before I get this new one working.

The phone is a Doro Easy 612 which is unlocked for any network.

I spend 65 minutes the other day waiting for Virgin Media to answer, I have sent 3 messages to VM and no replies to any.

Any help would be appreciated 

Not what I expect from my provider.

OK. Do you know if the SIM came ready activated or needs activation from the old SIM. The letter that came with it should have instructions. 

If it needs activation use the old SIM and text SWITCH to 789225. Then carry on using the old SIM till it stops

It does not say in the letter that it needs any thing other than and I quote"Place your new sim into your phone, it should take 10 minutes or less to start working and you'll receive a text to confirm that it has"  

Well that doesn't work.

Another new sim arrived to day and that does not work either.  
I tried it in another mobile as well, a Samsung S3 mini with the same result.
 
As my wife does not use data can not the excising sim continue to be used?
 
I am concerned that this will continue to happen despite how many Virgin sims we try. 
 
If it means that this can not happen then she may have to change networks to get the mobile to work.
This will not be ideal but I am so fed up with this issue.

Have you been able to speak to an agent about this or has there been any changes with the sim card since you last posted?

 

If not, please respond to the private message that I have sent over and we can check if the new sim has been fully activated for you.
