Hi can anyone shed some light on whats happening here please?
Virgin media package is up for renewal next month so been WhatsApp chatting on a new price deal and after back and forth for over 5hrs we finally agreed on a price but at the end i was told do i want a 5gb or 10gb sim sent?? I told her i have an unlimited sim through my Oomph bundle that my daughter use’s and its still in use!! Then was told yes the new sim will be unlimited when it comes?? What does that mean,do i have to use that one instead?is my unlimited one no good anymore?? Can i just not use it because im not faffing on swapping sims and phone numbers over??
she was very blunt on explaining it.
Thanks

Hi @Karl72,
Welcome back to our Community Forums! Thank you for your post and for your new package query. I do apologise if the staff member was blunt with you in regards to this. This is not the services we aim to provide and I am sorry.
It sounds like you were discussing taking out one of our new Volt packages where we combine our Virgin Media services with our friends at O2. As a result of this, we are offering a Virgin Media package with an O2 SIM card. However, as you already have a Virgin Mobile SIM card active with your Ultimate Oomph package, any package changes will cause that Ultimate SIM card to be cancelled as it will no longer be connected to an Oomph package. You can very easily transfer the number from your Virgin Mobile SIM to the O2 SIM by getting a PAC code to move the number over to the new SIM.
We no longer offer Ultimate Oomph packages, and this is their new replacement is a sense, where a SIM is connected to your package.
Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help or help explain. I can understand the confusion if this was not explained correctly.
Thank you.

Oomph is dead. They want to put you on a Volt Package that requires an O2 SIM. They said 5Gb or 10Gb SIM so not unlimited data wise! Usual misinformation.
If you go Volt you will eventually be cut off so you would need to try and get them to put that on one of the new 30 day contracts.
This is the best guide to what Volt is all about

So this new sim which was either 5gb or 10gb then changed to unlimited when i queried it isnt an replacement unlimited sim like she said? If thats the case i’ll ring tomorrow and cancel the new contract(14 day cooling off)
To be honest ive wanted out of Virgin for awhile now so think this is it.

Hey @Karl72, thanks for reaching out to us.
I'm sorry to hear about the misunderstanding of the package when chatting with our team.
The O2 deal offers you data but as a benefit for being with Virgin Media as well - the data is doubled.
I will send you a private message to see if this has been sent out - watch out for the purple envelope 🙂
Kind regards.
