New Samsung A32 5G SIM wont register

Hello,

I received my new phone, a Samsung A32 5G, today whatever I try to do I cant get the SIM to register.

When I started I wasn't asked to provide any SIM unlock PIN.

Can anyone help?

Update:

I've tried the SIM from my old 4G phone, that registered immediately, but the new 5G still says 'Unable to connect network. Please try later'.

I've tried switching on & off but it makes no difference.

Since the old SIM does register and allows calls, I assume my problems are not with the new phone but more likely with new SIM.

I've noted that one half of the gold contact has a distinctly different colour to the rest of it.

Does that discolouration indicate the SIM is faulty?

When you go into your online account does it give you the option to activate your SIM.

You could also ring customer services from your old SIM  789 if it is Virgin 0345 6000 789 if not

Thanks for the reply, on my online account page, there isn't an activate your SIM option.

Contact customer services is only for the desperate I haven't got there yet .....

Is your old SIM Virgin and are you keeping it's number (ie are you upgrading). 

If so there is a good chance your old SIM will switch to 5G as from a technical point there is no such thing as a Virgin 5G SIM whatever is printed on the packet

The old SIM does work, (that was my default if nothing else worked) however I tried for a webchat, eventually I found a route to activate one, and got my problem sorted.

I have taken a look on our side and can see you have been able to speak with the team and get your SIM card activated.
