My elderly mother has an ancient Nokia 1100. She has been told she has 25 days until her old SIM stops working. When we put the new SIM in the phone it says “SIM not valid”.
I spent 70 minutes on hold to customer support before the call was disconnected. It then took three more attempts (60 mins, 60 mins, 45 mins) to reach a real person - unfortunately, by this stage, I wasn’t with my mum. The customer service person couldn’t provide any help at all without speaking to my mum... so, because my mum needs help dealing with things like this, the service person said she would call her 4pm when I would be there to help. I went round and we waited until 5:15pm - no call!
Does anyone know if the “SIM not valid” issue is because the new SIM is not compatible with such an old phone?
Looks like I have to give up another chunk of my life trying to ring customer services again!
