New SIM card suddenly dropping signal.

I'm posting on behalf of my wife who still uses Virgin Mobile PAYG.

After some initial problems with the new PAYG SIM card everything seemed to work fine but in the last couple of weeks she will get a text message saying she has emergency calls only, this happens after the phone being used with no problems, the phone then reconnects to the network after a few minutes.

We are in the HD5 postcode and allegedly there are no mobile problems in our area.

I have read on the forum that some people had problems with the new SIM but that was back in September when my wife had no trouble.

I would appreciate a comment from a Virgin Mobile representative.

Re: New SIM card suddenly dropping signal.

Thanks for the post Norskyorkie.

Have you tried the SIM card in a different handset?

Let us know, Emily.

Re: New SIM card suddenly dropping signal.

Hi, thanks for the reply, this is still happening almost every morning.

Sadly I can't try the SIM in another phone as mine doesn't accept a nano SIM.

I have installed Phone Signal on her phone and it caught the drop of sevice this morning, I've added a screen shot of the graph, the first red mark was about the time the signal dropped, a warning that she had only emergency call appeared and then vanished 30 seconds or so later, everything has worked fine since.
