New IPhone ,sim enquiry

Am buying an iPhone 11.My old iPhone has a nano sim while the new one will be  dual sim.

My questions are 

will the old nano sim work with new iPhone?

If not and I need to get a dual sim,, can I keep my old phone number and how?

Good news is you can use your old sim card, all dual sim means is you can have a total of two sim cards in the phone.

Once you put the sim in everything will remain the same including the number

If you do an iCloud back up this will also back the data up for you. Thanks
