New Contract and a new O2 SIM

i have just renegotiated my VM contract and this will mean a new SIM for my phone.  My phone already has an O2 SIM. My existing O2 Contract is of lower quality to the new O2 SIM via the VM Contract. Therefore, I want to replace my existing O2 SIM with the new one. via VM. The last thing i want to do is have to pay for 2 O2 SIMS.... Can I port an existing O2 number to the new O2 SIM? I feel i am about to be sucked down an O2/VM rabbit hole....

Has anyone been through this scenario already?

That will the ultra useless Manila Call Centre who want to make an extra few peso's on top of the £500 a month wages the VM partner pays them...

(I know how much the wages are in the Philippines as I have built out 2 call centres in Manila)
