There isn't a code with iPhones.

These phones locked to the network of the first SIM inserted via Apple's servers.

That network simply needs to ask Apple to release it.

Thankyou for your reply. So does that mean I cant get my old phone unlocked by Virgin even though I bought it from them?

If it was bought from Virgin then you need to ask them to have it unlocked. After 3 or 4 days it should automatically happen without any other intervention.

However, have you tried it with a none Virgin SIM? to see if it does work? That's the route I would take as at some point in the past Apple changed their locking policy, so it may not be locked.

Hello

When you request the unlock for an iPhone from VM, VM then have to contact Apple to remove the lock from their server, so it will be unlocked just may take a few more days than advertised.
