Need to cancel mobile for mum who has dementia

Hi can't seem to cancel my mum's mobile phone. She has dementia and is in a care home. I cancelled the payments in the bank. But now she's getting debt agency letters. I'm worried about the whole situation. Please can anyone help. I've rung the debt agency but they said they need medical proof. I don't like to ask anyone medical for a letter to send as they are so busy at the moment.  What can I do. Can anyone help. Michael Rogers

Re: Need to cancel mobile for mum who has dementia

Hi Mikeydrogers66,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

I'm very sorry to hear that your mum is unwell and can fully appreciate these letters are causing some concern.

I'm afraid that cancelling the Direct Debit doesn't cancel the account and would lead to instances like this.

However we can certainly have a closer look at the account and see what we can do to help.

I'll need to pop you a personal message and grab some details and we can take it from there.
