NEW SIM ON OLD PHONE

Hopefully someone here can help. My wife has a smartphone so I'm happy to continue using my basic 17 year old sagem phone -all was well until the new sim arrived, the phone is blocked with the new sim and there's no way I can get to get the phone to accept the unblock code after keying the numbers in (ie there's no enter key, the numbers just sit in the display). I sent a query to Virgin and they called me in late August, but I didn't recall a password they already had for me (I decided not to guess) and for reasons I now understand failed to answer their questions on last top up amount and last number I'd called (I now realise it was a transfer of credit from my wife's old phone, and their own check balance number (why do they include that?) rather than the (what seemed to me at the time) perfectly valid answers I gave.) The chap said if I topped up again with the old sim, and called a number I knew, they'd call back in a few days time when I could give correct answers and then they'd let me know the solution to my problem. So I did both those things on 1st September, but they haven't called back. I got an email saying if I didn't call them they'd assume I'd resolved the problem, so I did call and when I got through (only 2 or 3 minutes waiting) the line to the female who answered was poor, and she hung up on me! I haven't been able to get through since then (gave up after 10 minutes waiting). Surely there is a simple solution to this?

Re: NEW SIM ON OLD PHONE

Have you googled how to unlock this phone.

On most phones you have to follow a set sequence, you just can't type the numbers in.

Hi JEFFCV

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

Is the phone number registered to yourself or your Wife please?

Kind regards,
