My payg mobile is locked due to the change over sim

I am unable to get messages or text on the new sim as phone locked and is asking for restriction code that I do not have

If you're desperate, a quick stopgap - beg, borrow, buy(cheapest) unlocked phone. Insert old sim, copy contacts etc., to phone. Replace old sim with new sim, if required copy contacts etc. to phone. New sim should work!

Getting a resolution from Virgin will not be quick.

no it locked it was asking for code. message said phone restricted
