Can someone tell me why when I text it is a different number. I recently changed to a virgin sim and used a pac code to keep my number but when I text its a different number.

The number porting process is incomplete / incorrect.

VM need to set your ported number as the Caller Id for phone calls and to be the source for SMS messages.

Check that both in bound calls and SMS messages to your ported number are reaching your mobile.
