Moved from sim to oomph

I've just been bundled in to my contract with an oomph sim... I was told it would be moved but I'm not sure what to do if anything. Do I get a new sim, and how do I go about moving my number and cancelling my current sim plan.

I didn't ask yesterday as I just assumed it would be done by the vm system 

But reading some of the posts it seems its not that simple. Please advise.

What should happen if it's arranged correctly is that the plan on your existing number and SIM updates to the Oomph plan which mean it stops being charged separately to your cable services.

You shouldn't need a new SIM or number.

Unfortunately what does happen is that instead of changing an existing SIM over, a new SIM and number is arranged instead. That then needs correcting.

When is your refresh date?

You will know by then for definite although it might also shown in the account site at https://mobile.virginmedia.com > Plan and device

16th of the month. I'll keep an eye on the account and if its not changed after that I'll get in touch with vm.

Just checked my plan and it shows pending for oomph on 16th, so looks like the person has done it correctly.
