Has anyone else noticed that Virgin charge for service numbers that are not service numbers? I was at work the other day and the works phone was not working so I used my mobile to ring another office landline. On auto-pilot I dialled 901xxx-xxxxxx using a 9 for an outside line. I got a message saying the number was invalid and then re-dialled without the 9.
My bill comes through and lists a 5 second service call at a cost of nearly £4 for when I dialled that number with a 9. The number with a 9 does not exist as a service number. Is this even legal?
Thank you for your post, I appreciate you have some concerns about this and my understanding is that when calling from your Virgin Mobile and putting a '9' before the number then it would be an invalid number and the call shouldn't connect.
I have sent you a private message so we can investigate this matter further.
