I just gave up. The new purple SIM in my old Nokia 3310 just said SIM not Valid, and I could not fix it. I just bought a new Nokia 1.3 and the SIM works fine with no problems. So it’s probable that old phones cannot take the new SIM (which I had read on another SIM thread in the Forum) - why didn’t Virgin just own up and say that and save complainants, many of who seem to be elderly, all this hassle? How long I stay with Virgin Media after this is a question. I wrote to the CEO about terrible customer service but no response.
Sorry if this was not made clearer as we are advising all customers with older handsets that it can be due to handset being locked without an available code or incompatibility due to the age of the handset. I'm glad to hear that you were able to get things sorted.
